I feel you, so am I. But you see, we're not taking portraits - we're celebrating! Think of our time together as a fun hangout with your loved ones and an old friend who always has her camera in tow. We're just gonna meet up at some pretty park or cool spot in the city and do a little exploring, get to know each other, and have fun!

Ultimately, I aim to create a fun, casual, and comfortable atmosphere not only because I want you to have a fabulous experience, but because no good can come from feelings of discomfort, especially when our mission is to capture the real and the authentic. So in terms of posing and whatnot, I'll be there to guide you, but mostly we'll just be having some laughs and hanging out as you chill with your people like any Sunday afternoon.

First, I'll ask some general get-to-know-you questions and inquire about what you want in terms of portraits. I’ll also go over my packages and open the floor to any questions or concerns you need me to address.

If you decide to book, we’ll choose a date and time for the session, at which point I require a deposit of 25% of the session fee, with the remainder of the fee due on the day of the session.

Once the deposit is paid, I’ll send my guide, questionnaire, and access to a styling assistance platform, and we’ll start planning the details of the session.

A few days before the session, I’ll send an email confirmation, along with a few last-minute details and important points to keep in mind for the shoot.

We can communicate through email or hop on a call at any point throughout planning.

There are so many lovely locations in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. I'll pretty much travel anywhere within two hours.

Here's a list of some of my favorite settings, many of which I've been to and some of which I'd love to check out: Jacobsburg Park in Nazareth, the Allentown Rose Gardens, Burnside Plantation in Bethlehem, PA; Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, Hugh Moore Park in Easton, Bank Street Annex and surrounding streets of downtown Easton, the Simon Silk Mill in Easton, Trexler Memorial Park in Allentown, the Rodale Institute in Kutztown, the Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus, Von Thun Farms in Washington, NJ; Cross Estate Gardens in Bernardsville, NJ; Philly, a rented studio, and in the comfort of your own home, which is great for lifestyle and documentary portrait sessions.

These are just a few examples. I can certainly provide more ideas, and feel free to conduct your own research and let me know of any ideas you have in mind.

When choosing an outfit for your session, I suggest taking the portrait setting into consideration. So, for instance, I conducted a maternity shoot in the winter at Jacobsburg Park and the mother asked for suggestions on what color her dress should be. My response was to consider the setting. Since it was winter and the shoot would be taking place at an outdoorsy and natural setting, there'd be a lot of browns, tans, and grays, so I suggested a darker color, like a forest green or navy blue. She went with the green and it was gorgeous!

Ultimately, your outfit should not clash with the setting or otherwise distract from you and the people with you. This is something to keep in mind when it comes to prints, patterns, colors, etc. Outfits should also not clash with other outfits. So, as an example, for couples, it's a good idea for outfits to be coordinated so they're not too contrasty and distracting.

Overall, choose an outfit that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and fabulous. And if you need inspiration, Pinterest is a fantastic resource. Simply search "family photo outfits" or "fall family photo outfits" or "spring color palettes." I also provide access to a styling platform for further assistance.

Before your session, I recommend thinking about any props you might want to incorporate into your photos. For instance, think about bringing along a special baby blanket for a newborn session or baby shoes for a maternity shoot or a nice blanket to sit on. Also, if you're taking family photos with kids, it may be a good idea to bring along snacks and baby wipes in case they start to get peckish or decide to play in the mud. Speaking of which, I'm totally cool with outfits getting messy as this is a sign we're having fun, but feel free to bring a change of clothes.

Overall, I recommend answering some questions that I think will help you feel more comfortable and also set the scene for some truly beautiful and authentic portraits: How do you envision these portraits? What are you hoping to accentuate? Why do you want to have portraits taken? What is it you want to celebrate? What story do you want to tell?

Within the allotted processing time for your shoot, you'll receive an email from me with a URL that links directly to a Google Drive folder containing all full-size, high-resolution JPG images edited by me and available for you to download to your computer. This email will also contain general need-to-know information regarding the photos and your files, like advice on where to have them printed.
